In the beginning...
Slobber was created by product developer, chef, and dog owner Jeanne van der Westhuizen, who is also the mastermind behind popular eatery Salisburys in Woodstock.
Unhappy with the options available but wanting to provide her ridgeback puppy, Penny, and rescue senior, Diesel, with the best possible nutrition, Jeanne started researching the benefits of a human-grade dog food diet. Then Jeanne did what she does best: she started cooking. And Penny and Diesel said: “THANK YOU!!”
When Jeanne’s sister, Carla, brought Jackson, a German short-haired pointer, home to her family, the idea for a dog food company slowly started brewing. Because Carla doesn’t always have the time or lus to cook for Jacksie, but she really wants to give him the best food possible. And the alternatives are either not sufficient or too expensive.
